So it is a 90% likely possibility that I will be making my own professional website next year when my subscription runs out for DeviantArt!

"Why is that V?" You may ask...

I'll tell you why! It's a long story, grab some popcorn and whatever drink you prefer.

I made a small mistake when renewing my DevArt subscription. I meant to pay for 3 months ( only around 7 dollars ) and after I got all my credit card info in and pressed ok I realized that I forgot to switch from the 12 month subscription Deviantart AUTOMATICALLY selects for the default option. Instead of paying around 7-8 dollars I ended up paying over 24 dollars which I don't have in my bank.

I contacted the help desk immediately after I realized my mistake. ( which was about 5 minutes after pressing the accept button ) I only have 12 dollars in my bank account. So what does this mean for me? An awesome over draft fee! : )

WHY IN THE WORLD would you not just make it so the subscriber just selects it themselves and if when they press the accept button and they didn't make a selection it would just send them back to the form prompting them to SELECT THE SUBSCRIPTION THEY WANT? You know.. Instead of making the default option the most expensive one?

It is not fun paying 25 dollars on top of already having to pay 25 dollars for a subscription I didn't want.

Now in all fairness DevArt says that if a mistake was made you have a 48 hour grace period. The thing is that we as customers don't have any feed back from the company about what is going on with our help desk inquiry or even so much as an e-mail saying "we have received your help desk request and are on it" so that at THE LEAST I know my request got in within the 48 hour grace period. ( If DevArt does send E-mail I got no such e-mail, btw. )

I contacted them just as the 48 hours were drawing near again. I tried going to the help chat and they can't or don't know how to do anything about it. Thanks for the "help" DevArt.

On top of everything. There is no phone number to call for customer service. What company doesn't have a customer service line? I would tell you what kind but I want to try and refrain from name calling.

If any of you know some other way I can resolve this PLEASE let me know.

In the mean time, I am waiting for a reply from the Help Desk. If they come through great! However I will still be making my own professional website and I won't be subscribing to DevArt again. I won't use my money on them anymore. I'll save it towards my own website instead. It was something I was planning on doing and this was just the last good push. : )

I'll still keep my DevArt around but that's about it..

Also just in case you're like "Hey Vee it's still YOUR mistake!" I KNOW it's my mistake. But it's a mistake anyone could make. I plan on suggesting through the help desk that they change the subscription form at the very least so no one else makes the same stupid mistake. lol.
